Walgreens and the American Diabetes Association Team Up to Reward Healthy Choices by Diabetics

The American Diabetes Association is working in collaboration with the national pharmacy chain Walgreens, already a National Strategic Partner, to get the word out about a new program that encourages healthier and more active lifestyles among people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

Every time you make a healthy choice—this may include walking, running, or simply testing your blood glucose levels—you can earn rewards on the Walgreens Balance ® Rewards Program.

"Balance ® Rewards is the first retail rewards program that rewards participants for their healthy choices, such as walking, running, weight management and testing your blood pressure and blood glucose," writes the American Diabetes Association.

Simply by joining the Balance ® Rewards program at Walgreens, the pharmacy will donate $1 to the American Diabetes Association through December 31, 2014, up to $50,000.

Meanwhile, each time you track one of those healthy choices in Walgreens' Balance ® Rewards program, you earn additional rewards from Walgreens.
