If you live in an area that has been hit by some snowstorms, you might be feeling a little stir crazy. It's easy to get sedentary when stuck indoors in the bleak dead of winter. Don't let it happen-- get out for some winter activity.
Winter exercises can be excellent for burning fat and keeping up with your workout schedule. It's also a fun way to get some fresh air and keep yourself energized.
Strap on some snow shoes, build a snowman or a fort, have a snowball fight with the kids, or strap on some skis for cross-country skiing. Trying to work through that snow has a way of burning calories and improving strength that is better than any gym membership.
Use Your Head
Be sensible, of course, before you go running out into the snow. Don't go out when conditions are unsafe, and check with your doctor to make sure you're fit enough for the challenge.
But if you are, there's no reason you need to be stuck indoors all winter putting on weight and struggling to keep your blood sugar in check.
